In Space and Time

By Veronica Banks

In the one way ticket to
the end of the world
you take a seat and
watch as the clock stops
ticking. But you still
feel the world
moving beneath your feet.
And you let tiny little ants
crawl up your legs to your
throat because they feel nice.
The ants drop and you do too,
as the world falls out
of orbit. Knocked off course
by the solar beats of the sun.
So you grab the nearest
piece of the charred earth
and you
watch.
